Why, and How, Judges Should Study Poetry William T. Braithwaite* FOREWORD These observations were originally presented as a lecture at the final session of the Illinois Judicial Conference's seminar "Ethical Issues in Law and Society," May 28-30, 1987, in Galena, Illinois.
